NBA Picks for February 12th 2012
Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors
Prediction: Golden State Warriors -1.5

The Golden State Warriors are the real deal this season. It has taken them some time to gel under new head coach Mark Jackson, but this is going to be a very dangerous team from here on out.
Golden State comes into this game on two days’ rest. Their last outing resulted in an impressive 109-101 road win at Denver. This well-rested team will be ready to go tonight when they take on the Houston Rockets.
Houston has won three straight, but they’ve been very fortunate in doing so. Kevin McHale is doing an solid coaching job over there, but he’s starting to lose some of his best players. McHale benched leading scorer Kevin Martin during this recent stretch, and starting PG Kyle Lowry (14.7 points, 7.6 assists, 5.7 rebounds) missed last game with an arm injury.
The home team has won four of the last five meetings in this series. The favorite is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings. Golden State is 55-36 ATS in their last 91 after allowing 100 points or more 3 straight games. The Warriors are 29-15 ATS in their last 44 home games after scoring 105 points. Bet Golden State Sunday.

Phoenix Suns vs. Sacramento Kings
NBA Pick: Phoenix Suns +2 -110 odds (February 11th 2012)

This is a huge letdown spot for the Sacramento Kings. They are coming off their biggest win of the season on TNT Thursday with a 106-101 home victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. This young team doesn’t quite yet know how to handle this kind of success. There’s no way they’ll be able to match Thursday’s effort.
Phoenix is playing solid basketball of late, winning three of their last four. That includes two impressive road victories over Atlanta and Milwaukee. Phoenix wants revenge from three straight losses to the Kings to close out last season. Look for the Suns to be the more motivated team in this one, thus they come out with the victory.
The Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a road underdog of 0.5-4.5. The Kings are 8-17-1 ATS in their last 26 Saturday games. Phoenix is 13-3 ATS in their last 16 February road games. The Suns are 30-16 ATS in their last 46 road games versus poor defensive teams – allowing 99+ points/game. Bet Phoenix Saturday.

Wichita State vs. Creighton
College Basketball Pick: Creighton -1 (February 11th 2012)

I’m recommending a play on Creighton in the MVC’s biggest game of the season. The Blue Jays were “sitting pretty” on top of the league standings for quite some time, but just dropped a pair of road games at Northern Iowa and Evansville. The Jays looked about as flat as they have all season in the loss to the Purple Aces. But the joint will be jumping in Omaha, and Creighton will be highly motivated to gain the season sweep over the current 1st place Shockers. A loss at home would drop the Jays 2 games back of Wichita in the league standings. Creighton had a season low 57 possessions last time out and nearly half of their shots came from behind the arc. They were simply off-kilter against Evansville. The Jays don’t fall off-kilter much in Omaha. They’re 12-1 SU this season, winning their last 4 at home by an average score of 85-63. The Shockers limited Doug McDermott to 9 shots and 12 points in their December meeting. But while doubling McDermott, they had no answer for Antoine Young, who led the Jays with 19. Creighton also has Gregory Echenique to go toe-to-toe with Wichita big man Garrett Stutz. Echenique shut Stutz down in the 68-61 CU victory. Wichita has covered just 5 of their last 21 as a road dog of less than 7 points and they’re 1-7 ATS in their last 8 as a dog, overall. Meanwhile, the Jays take care of business at home, currently on a 17-4 ATS run as home chalk. I’m recommending a play on Creighton on Saturday. Thanks! GL! Scott. Milwaukee Bucks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
NBA Pick: Milwaukee Bucks -1 -110 odds (February 10th 2012)
CLICK HERE FOR TODAY’S EXPERT NBA PICKS
Milwaukee comes into this game off a 105-99 road win against the Raptors on Wednesday. That win improved Milwaukee’s road record to just 4-10 on the season, so I could see where it would be hard for people to back the Bucks to win back-to-back away from home. Considering how bad the Bucks have been on the road, the fact that they are favored in this game should tell you something.
This is definitely a prime spot for Milwaukee to capture another rare road win, as the Cavaliers are expected to be without sensational rookie point guard Kyrie Irving. If you don’t think the loss of Irving will have an impact on this game, you must have a pretty short memory. Cleveland was arguably the worst team in the NBA last year, and it wasn’t until they drafted Irving did they start to become competitive. Not only are the Cavs expected to be without Irving, but starting shooting guard, Anthony Parker, is also expected to miss tonight’s game.
It would be one things if the Cavaliers were a dominant home team, but they are just 5-5 on their home floor this season. Milwaukee is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games, and I fully expect them to win this game tonight! BET THE BUCKS!
