Houston Astros vs. Chicago Cubs: MLB Picks for May 31st 2011
Houston Astros vs. Chicago Cubs
MLB Pick: Chicago Cubs -168 (May 31st 2011)
At 8:05 pm, our complimentary selection is on the Chicago Cubs over the Houston Astros. Carlos “Big Z” Zambrano recently got his first win of the season in his home ballpark when he beat the Mets at Wrigley Field on May 26 and improved his overall record to 5-2 on the season. Zambrano will try to make it two in a row at home tonight when he faces the Astros, a team he’s already beaten this season – in Houston back on April 13. The Astros will call up 20-year-old righthander Jordan Lyles for his first-ever Major League start tonight. Lyles was Houston’s first round draft pick back in 2008 when he was just 17 years old, and he’s worked his way through every level of the Minor Leagues to AAA Oklahoma City this season where Lyles had a moderate amount of success, going 3-3 with a 3.20 ERA in 10 starts. His task tonight is made more difficult by the fact that Zambrano’s April victory over Houston put the big righthander at an impressive 15-8 with a 2.78 ERA in 32 appearances (30 starts) against the ‘Stros. Take the Cubs. As always, good luck…Al McMordie. (Touthouse.com)
