MLB Lines: Minnesota Twins vs. San Francisco Giants Pick: June 23rd 2011
Twins +175 (1* FREE PLAY) Twins are scorching right now winning 15 of 17 games and they have always been a quality inter league team over the past few years and they are proving that once again this year. There game on Wednesday night is about to start as I’m typing this so it will be interesting to see if they stay hot against Ryan Vogelsong. They have a tough match up on Thursday with Tim LIncecum, but the way the Giants have hit I”m confident the Twins will have a shot and it’s because of Brian Duensing.
Duensing a lefty has been having an off year with a 4.82 ERA, but his FIP is at 3.59 which means he’s going to start to get closer to that ERA. My guess he’ll finish around 4 and this is a good opportunity to continue that trend as he has a 2.81 ERA over his last 3 starts and now faces a Giants team that is scoring just 2.79 runs per 9 innings at home and 2.61 vs. lefties. In fact they are 24th in the league vs. LHP when it comes to OPS at .671 and 29th in runs scored. Minnesota’s bullpen has been solid over their last 10 games 2.66 ERA which was the main reason they were so bad earlier in the year. Right now the Twins just seem to not be able to lose, so a +175 is good enough value for me and we will go with it.
