There are multiple systems favoring the Rangers to come away with a win against the Indians tonight. Texas is 11-3 in their last 14 games as a home favorite, 12-3 in their last 15 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days, and 11-2 in their last 13 during game 1 of a series.
The Indians Ubaldo Jimenez will make his first start for the Indians, and they are really counting on him to help them win the AL Central. The problem is Jimenez is just 6-9 with a 4.46 ERA this season, and it won’t get any easier pitching against the loaded lineups in the American League, especially the Rangers who are 9-1 in their last 10 home games vs. a right-handed starter.
Not to mention, Jimenez is going up against one of the hottest pitchers in all of baseball in Derek Holland, who is 4-0 (three shutouts) with a 1.64 ERA in his last three starts. Texas is 13-5 in Holland’s last 18 starts as a home favorite, and 4-0 in his last 4 starts during game 1 of a series. BET THE RANGERS!
