I’ll back the Arizona Diamondbacks as a small home favorite Monday over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Diamondbacks have the better starter on the mound tonight in Josh Collmenter over Randy Wolf. Collmenter is 4-5 with a 2.92 ERA and 1.000 WHIP in 11 starts and seven relief appearances for Arizona. He is 2-2 with a 2.88 ERA and 0.920 WHIP in four home starts. Collmenter pitched a gem against Milwaukee in his lone career start against them on July 6th earlier this month. He pitched six shutout innings while allowing only four base runners.

Randy Wolf is 6-6 with a 3.65 ERA and 1.335 WHIP in 19 starts this season for Milwaukee. Wolf is 0-2 with a 5.85 ERA and 1.750 WHIP in his last three starts, one of which came against the Diamondbacks on 7/5/2011 less than two weeks ago. Wolf allowed 7 earned runs and 14 base runners in 6 innings to take the loss in a 7-3 Arizona victory. Wolf sports a 4.77 ERA and 1.401 WHIP in 19 career starts against the Diamondbacks. The Brewers are 8-21 in their last 29 games as a road underdog. Milwaukee is 1-6 in their last seven vs. a team with a winning record. Bet Arizona Monday.
