NBA Basketball Picks: December 5th, 2007
NBA Basketball Picks: Chicago vs. Charlotte
Take Charlotte Bobcats
1 Unit on Charlotte Bobcats -1 The Bulls continue to get too much respect despite their 4-11 start. Chicago is just 1-7 straight up and ATS on the road this season and we don’t foresee any road magic tonight. The Bobcats return home from a trying road trip and we expect solid play to start back up for this team. Charlotte is 5-4 at home this season and 6-3 ATS. Charlotte is 24-6 ATS after failing to cover the spread in 2 or more consecutive games over the last 3 seasons and 23-9 ATS revenging a same season loss vs opponent over the last 2 seasons. Back on the 1st, the Bulls beat the Bobcats in Chicago and we have the Bobcats returning the favor in this one. Take the Cats.
NBA Basketball Picks: Memphis vs. Houston
Take Memphis Grizzlies
1* on Memphis Grizzlies +10 The Grizzlies beat Houston already this season 105-99 at home. They match up very well with the Rockets as Pau Gasol can guard Yao Ming down low. Most teams don’t have an answer for Yao, but the Grizzlies most certainly do. Memphis is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 meeitngs with Houston. Houston is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 home games. Memphis is 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall. Houston is 2-11 ATS in home games versus good 3 point shooting teams making greater than 36% of their attempts over the last 2 seasons. The Grizzlies will keep this one close again, perhaps pulling off the upset. Take Memphis and the points.
NBA Basketball Picks: Boston vs. Philadelphia
Take Philadelphia 76ers
1 Unit on 76ers +10 Philly gets the edge at home catching double digits. After a disappointing loss to the Hawks Monday, we expect the 76ers to go for the target on Boston’s back here. Both of Boston’s losses have come on the road this season and the Celtics are just 4-3 ATS in road contests. Boston is also just 2-3 ATS in their last 5 games as oddsmakers have begun to figure this team out. Coach Cheeks is 24-9 ATS in home games when playing against a top-level team (Win Pct. > 70%) in all games he has coached since 1996. We expect to see the Celtics continued to be overvalued on the road because they are a big public fav right now. We’ll take the points and pick up the cover.
