Detroit Pistons vs. Boston Celtics
NBA Pick: Detroit Pistons +9 -110 odds (February 15th 2012)

While the Pitons come in off consecutive losses, they have won four of their last six games overall and are 6-1 in their last 7 games against the spread. Detroit was so bad early on in the season that they are still showing great value after covering six of seven. A big reason for the Pistons turnaround is they are as healthy as they have been all season. I don’t think they will have any trouble keeping this game within double-digits.
While Detroit is just not getting healthy, the Pistons continue to deal with injuries to key players. Boston is already without Brandon Bass and Mickael Pietrus, and are now expected to be without Kevin Garnett, who is listed as doubtful with a hip injury. Garnett doesn’t put up huge numbers anymore, but he is still a huge part of what the Celtics stand for. He is the guy that keeps the defensive intensity as the other players feed off of his energy. Boston struggled without him in the lineup last year, and I expect the same thing to happen tonight.
There’s no denying the Celtics are a great home team when it comes to winning games. Because so many people back Boston blindly at home it leads to a lot of inflated lines. Boston is just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5. BET THE PISTONS!

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Boston Celtics
Betting Prediction: Boston Celtics -3.5 -110 odds (February 9th 2012)

Healthy at last, Boston is playing its best ball winning nine of its last 10, including a season-high five in a row. The Lakers are not the elite team of past vintage. Kobe Bryant remains great and Los Angeles’ tall front line can cause matchup problems, but the Lakers have depth issues and backcourt problems, particularly at point guard. Until the Lakers prove otherwise, they are a fade on the road where they are 3-9 straight-up and ATS. The Lakers are giving up 97.2 points on the road, which is 12 more per game than they allow at home.
The Celtics have the defense to take advantage holding foes to a league-low 86.5 points per game, while also ranking No. 1 in defensive field goal percentage at 41.8. Maybe the Lakers can end their road woes here. They’ve been idle since Monday when they failed to cover as four-point road ‘dogs to the 76ers losing by five.
But I doubt that happens considering the Celtics are rested – having been at home since the start of the month and idle on Wednesday – at full strength and playing well. The Lakers have failed to cover nine of the past 11 times they’ve been a road ‘dog. They also are 3-9 ATS when playing on two days rest and are 4-10 ATS when taking on opponents with a winning mark. Orlando Magic vs. Boston Celtics
Betting Prediction: Orlando Magic -9.5 -110 odds (January 26th 2012)

The Orlando Magic want serious payback tonight. I believe they go out and get it against the banged-up Boston Celtics. Orlando suffered their worst loss of the season just a few nights ago on January 23rd, falling 56-87 at Boston. You can bet the Magic will be hungry for revenge at home tonight.
Aside from that blip, the Magic have been one of the most impressive teams in the league this season. Orlando is off to a 12-5 start while covering the spread in 10 of their 17 games. They are 6-2 at home this season, giving up a mere 88.1 points/game on 41.9 percent shooting.
Boston has looked horrible aside from their win over the Magic. The Celtics are just 7-9 on the season with just one win against a team with a winning record. They are scoring just 89.4 points/game this season as their offense just cannot seem to get on track.
The Celtics will certainly struggle offensively tonight without two of their best players. Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen are each expected to sit out tonigt. Plus, Jermaine O’Neal is listed as doubtful with a knee injury. Boston stands little chance of keeping this game close without these three players on the floor.
Boston is 8-28 ATS in their last 36 after a win by 10 points or more. Worse yet, the Celtics are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 after a blowout win by 20 points or more. Boston is 0-7 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Bet the Magic Thursday.

Phoenix Suns vs. Boston Celtics
NBA Pick: Phoenix Suns +7 (January 20th 2012)

The Celtics have not looked great this season and this abbreviated NBA schedule has really worked against them. This team is old and injury prone and we think they have their hands full tonight against a scrappy Phoenix team, especially with floor general Rajon Rondo expected to miss the game with a wrist injury. The Celtics are really banged up overall and the Suns have a clean injury list for this game and we expect Phoenix to bring their A Game in what is certainly a winnable game. Since they notched a win last time out against the Knicks, tonight is their chance to salvage a respectable road trip as this is likely their most winnable game of the entire slate of what had been a Murderer’s Row of a road trip. If they are going to take a night off, this is probably not the one they will choose. The Celtics are a bit overrated by the oddsmakers this season and we feel that is definitely the case tonight. This team is just 3-5 ATS at home this season. This team has had all sorts of problems on the offensive end, and that should not change tonight with Rondo out of the lineup. We feel this game will go down to the wire and that the underdog is the only side to consider here. Get more NBA picks for January 20th 2012 from Doc’s Sports at Touthouse.com.
Boston Celtics vs. Indiana Pacers
NBA Pick: Indiana Pacers -3.5 (January 14th 2012)
CLICK HERE FOR TODAY’S EXPERT NBA PICKS
It’s becoming more and more obvious that the Celtics are old and simply not that good anymore. They still have a strong defensive mindset that keeps them in games, but the inability to score points is absolutely killing this team. The Celtics are averaging just 90.6 ppg.
The Pacers are a team that is still flying under the radar, despite opening up the season 8-3. Indiana has already went into Boston and beat the Celtics 87-74, and I have a pretty good feeling they aren’t going to be satisfied with just one win against Boston.
This low spread has me all over the Pacers, especially when I look and see Boston I look and see Boston is 1-3 on the road and the Pacers are a perfect 4-0 at home. BET THE PACERS -3.5!
