The Cardinals have shown why they are the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. They won their first two games against North Carolina A&T (79-48) and Colorado State (82-56) by a combined 57 points.
Louisville went on to beat Oregon (77-69) in the Sweet 16 in a game that was a bigger blowout than the final score would indicate. It jumped out to a 24-8 lead and never looked back against the Ducks.
While Duke has posted three straight double-digit victories, I look for its guards to struggle with Louisville’s press. Having only one day to prepare for it is simply not enough, which is why I like the Cardinals to advance to the Final Four for a second straight year.
The Cardinals have forced 20 or more turnovers in five of their last eight games overall. Their defense has been playing at a very high level over the past month, which is a big reason why they are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Duke is 1-9 ATS after 3 straight games – allowing a shooting pct. of 40% or less over the last 3 seasons. The Blue Devils are 0-8 ATS after allowing 65 points or less 3 straight games over the last 3 seasons. Louisville is 15-3 ATS when playing on a neutral court over the last 2 seasons. This trend just goes to show how the Cardinals’ style is so tough to beat in these tournament games. Bet Louisville Sunday. (Saturday, 10/6, 3 pm ESPN 3) Not too often in life do you find the Duke Blue Devils favored over a conference opponent but that is exactly what will be the case today in Durham. These two coaches do not like one another and had a heated handshake and the conclusion of Virginia’s double digit victory last season. Virginia has played a brutal schedule thus far and I expect that they will take out their anger on a weak Duke squad this afternoon. The Blue Devils are 4-1 on the season but they have played a very weak schedule and have yet to beat a good team on the season. Play the underdog in this contest. Do not miss Doc’s Sports weekend college football picks featuring top plays on Saturday and Sunday. Doc has yet to lose a top play selection in the NFL this season and our pick on Sunday comes from one of the marquee games!

The Florida State Seminoles have been underrated all season. They continue to get no respect tonight from oddsmakers as they are an underdog to the Duke Blue Devils. This line just shows how the betting public believes Florida State’s win at Duke earlier this season was a fluke.
I see it much differently and strongly believe that the Seminoles are going to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. FSU is 19-7 on the season, including 14-1 at home where they are outscoring opponents by a whopping 16.1 points/game.
The Seminoles know how to defend, which gives them a chance to beat any team in the country. FSU is only yielding 60.8 points on 37.0 percent shooting. One of their 14 home wins came against North Carolina. The Seminoles handed the Tar Heels their worst loss of the season, a 90-57 beat down on 1/14.
Florida State is 6-0 ATS off an upset win over a conference rival as an underdog over the last 3 seasons. They are winning by 21.0 points/game in this situation. The Seminoles are 22-4-1 ATS in their last 27 games as a home underdog of 0.5-6.5. FSU is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 meetings with Duke. Bet Florida State Thursday.

On Wednesday the Free NCAAB play is on Duke. Game 754 at 7;00 eastern The Blue Devils are off a blowout loss to Ohio.St in their last game and it appears Colorado St is in the wrong arena at the wrong time. Cameron Indoor will be crazy tonight and Colorado St may not be able to survive the Big Duke Runs they are likely to see tonight.
