Week 1 NFL Pick: Houston Texans -3 -110 odds (September 11th 2011)

The Houston Texans (6-10 SU, 6-10 ATS) have one of the league’s most explosive offenses and used it last season to jump all over the Indianapolis Colts (10-6 SU, 8-7-1 ATS) in their thrilling 34-24 home win in Week 1 a year ago. Of course, the Texans went on to fall completely apart last season, thanks to their horrific defense, but that’s not stopping me from backing them again in this contest and it shouldn’t deter you either NFL gamblers. Indianapolis will almost assuredly be without starting quarterback Peyton Manning as he recovers from offseason neck surgery and the Texans should be a lot better defensively this coming season with Wade Phillips now the team’s defensive coordinator. Look for the Texans to cover the NFL betting odds here with room to spare as Arian Foster runs wild against the Colts’ mostly uninspiring defense.
